Hanley Ramirez is PUMPED.

I think they'd better hire someone who played in MLB or they'll still have issues with Hanley Ramirez.

Jeffrey Loria is holding the Marlins back more than anybody.

I was aware that Jamie Moyer is set to pass Robin Roberts for giving up the most home runs in a career (505). I was not aware that he is set to pass Bob Feller for career wins (266).

Considering he's been released three times in his career, I think that's unbelievable.

And Fredi Gonzalez was fired as a tribute to them all.

So the Philly organization took it out on Fredi Gonzalez and fired him from the Marlins?

Loria is just a horrible owner. He has had two very good managers there that have had their teams competing and he's fired them both. Maybe the reason they aren't winning is because they have a $34 million payroll? Has that thought occured to Mr. Loria?

If either Lou Piniella or Ozzie Guillen were suddenly fired, you know the Score and ESPN 1000 would be all over it with continuous coverage and react. Sampling South Florida's two main sports talk station within the last few minutes, WQAM and WAXY, both of them are talking about today's USA soccer win over Algeria. You would think both of them, especially Marlins flagship WAXY, would be talking about Fredi's firing. The fact that the soccer game, in spite of it being big news nationally, supersedes the Marlins news could be a sign that the Marlins are really irreverent in South Florida.

EDIT: WAXY is suddenly talking about it while speculating that Bobby Valentine will be the next Florida manager.

I can completely see soccer being a bigger deal in Florida. That doesn't surprise me.

I think I win this challenge!

AL: Trey Hillman
NL: Fredi Gonzalez

But yeah, stupid move IMO. The fish were on their way up.

Jeffrey Loria just might pull off the Decade Double in destroying two franchises within a decade. At least the NBA had the good sense to kick Ted Stepien out of the league when he proved to be too bizarre.

Valentine is out of the picture with the Marlins job. That's surprising.

Given that Loria is the owner, not really.
