be out of 1st place at the all star break

My prediction the Sox will be a game out and Tigers will be 2.5.

The Twins will be facing the Mets, Tigers, Blue Jays and Rays. While the Sox will be facing the Cubs, Royals, Rangers and LA

I voted 2 games out, but in reality they will be up 1.

This team still has two west coast road trips and Detroit is already done on the west coast. That in itself is not in the White Sox favor. The Sox still have a long way to go to prove they can win this division. The Sox had a softer interleague schedule than Minnesota and Detroit.

...And are now back in the race and playing much better than they were earlier in the season. Whether or not you think this team is "for real," the fact is that they are only 4 games out. They are in it.

I hope we don't lose and the Rangers don't lose before we play each other, that would be an epic series.

I would like to see the Sox open up a nice lead by the break. But even at the break, there's a lot of baseball left to play.

If anyone is wondering, the 1983 White Sox at the break were three games over .500, in third place, 3.5 games behind the Rangers and 1.5 games behind the Angels. They were just one game ahead of the Royals. Of course, the White Sox finished the season with a 20-game lead over the second-place Royals.

On the other hand, the 1984 White Sox were four games above .500 at the break and in first place with a 1 game lead over the Twins and Angels. The White Sox finished in fifth place with a 74-88 record.

The 1977 White Sox were 14 games up at the break, in first place with a 2.5-game lead over the Royals. The 1977 Cubs were 19 games over .500 at the break and had a 2.5-game lead over the Phillies. The White Sox played .500 from that point and finished 13 games out of first. The Cubs actually finished the season with a .500 record.
