Do you have any info on B J Lamura, the 5th round pick?
This guy looks like he may be the real deal.

Well, he wasn't spectacular in somewhat of a down year for east coast college baseball. He has a couple more K's than IP, and only about a 2:1 K:BB ratio. Not great. 8 starts, 18 appearances. Batters hit .207 against him this season.
He has an above average arm, but mechanics and the lack of instincts/good breaking stuff have been the hinderence to him. The Sox have a pretty good recent history with these types of players, so we'll see how he fares in Rookie ball. I will be more interested in how he performs next year after some time working on his mechanics and an out pitch.

Thanx.
He pitched 5 1/3 shut out innings today, and looked damn good doing it,so we'll see what happens.

He's a very good athlete. He won the team's conditioning challenge and has a ~34" inch vertical. Really came out of nowhere this year as a junior. The Sox may not be able to sign him...Not a big guy and his arm comes with low mileage...only 82 innings pitched in his college career.
