This quote is from the ESPN story on today's Twins unfortunate huge comeback and eventually 13-10 victory.

Pinch-hitter Jim Thome cracked a two-run homer in the ninth off Phillies reliever Jose Contreras. Two outs later, Mauer's two-run drive off Lidge tied it at 9.
Butera's first career home run, also a pinch-hit shot, gave the Twins a 10-9 lead in the 10th, but pinch-hitter Ross Gload hit a tying homer off closer Jon Rauch (2-1) with two outs in the bottom half.

Thought this was a rare occurrence and worth making a thread about.

I noticed that too. I was like, how many ex-Sox are there in this league? One thing is for sure, Thome would have made an impact on the Sox roster.

Note to Kenny: Do not let Ozzie make personnel decisions. Anybody that chooses Kotsay over Thome should be banned from baseball.

Big hits off Brad Lidge are also a Sox thing.

Though 0-4 yesterday, Juan Uribe's also having a nice year so far for the Giants.

Though Thome hit a big HR yesterday, he hasn't been doing much, and in fact has played very little.
