I hope his arm has the strength to sign all those autographs. Either way, I'm sure it will be intense.

Why on earth would they schedule him to do an autograph promotion at a Chevy dealer on the day that he starts?

You would think they would have someone replace him.

I doubt Peavy signed today. I bailed on the appearance when I couldn't get the car dealership or the Sox to confirm it last evening. A call to the dealership produced a hustling salesman telling me Peavy would be signing "for a little while" and then twice trying to register me for a test-drive appointment.

These things are scheduled way in advance. Nobody knows if a pitcher will be starting that day.

I want to hear one of your "jokes"

Some people on these boards are just so damn predictable.

Jake did actually sign. They had us inside which was kinda nice, and Jake was pretty cool.

I'd have him sign that poster.

A pitcher has no business signing hundreds of autographs on the day he starts.

I give credit to anyone who went down there and invested their entire morning waiting for him with the chance they could have been stuck outside in the rain and the possibility that he would no-show because he was scheduled to pitch. On top of that, these car-dealership signings are usually poorly run.

I like getting autographs, but this one didn't make a lot of sense to attend.

Sounds like it paid off though...he was there, and they got to wait inside.

It was great. I was essentially at the end of the line and I showed up at 12 (same time jake showed up) and by 1:10 I was out of there. It was well organized but I'm not sure there was a ton of publicity about it. The problem is, they lined up 12 camaros inside, so now I really want to buy one.

My sister already has his signature on the back of a piece of paper, thank you very much.

Was it a coincidence that Peavy had his head up his rear during the game later that day? He balked home a run thanks to starting-stopping his windup and he also stood around the mound when he should have been backing up. Even Stone and Hawk called him out for the latter.

Teal much? He still managed his best start in some time.

I actually missed the game and I didn't know he did that but if that's true then teal should not be implied about his head being up his ass if that's true.

No need for teal. I'm serious. He committed two big-time mental mistakes. He looked like a jackass on the mound.

It's such nonsense that's tolerated way too much in the organization these days. Peavy has been so bad that we pat him on the head when he gives us just two runs. What he deserved was a kick in the ass and a chewing out.

I don't care what he looked like, but 2 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings should be able to get a win.
