June can very well be a make or break month for us. How do you think we'll do?

Here's the schedule:

3 vs Texas Rangers
3 vs Cleveland Indians
3 vs Detroit Tigers
3 @ Chicago Cubs
3 @ Pittsburgh Pirates
3 @ Washington Nationals
3 vs Atlanta Braves
3 vs Chicago Cubs
3 @ Kansas City Royals

Total – 27 games

Some of these teams seem pretty beatable. Which matchups are you looking forward to? Which ones are you dreading?

Cleveland, KC, and Pit should be the least scary teams on that list, but with this Sox team you never know.

The rest of those teams are decidedly mediocre aside from Atlanta. Washington is a much better team than last year. Looking forward to the Strasburg game.

I have no reason to believe a winning streak is coming. The pattern of win one, lose one, win two, lose two will continue. This is an average team that will play average ball the rest of the way.

You have no idea how badly I want to believe that this team will suddenly rattle off 20 something wins this month (or even 15)...but, I see them winning around 12.

This is a bad baseball team. Is there really anyone that can't see that?

I can see this team playing .500 ball from here on out - which won't be nearly enough to catch the Twins.

Sweep the Cubs.

no less than 18-9 will do .. i mean that's what i think they need, to be a few games over .500 .. as to what i'm expecting .. i really have no clue .. i just can't read this team at all ..

17 games. Beckham and Quentin have already shown signs of turning it around. I say that continues against some of these garbage teams. The starting rotation will start to show some signs of life too. Floyd has looked better lately. I think peavy will figure it out for at least half of his starts. Danks will bounce back. Garcia will be decent. The one I worry most about is Mark.

I'm being optimistic until the season is definitely lost.

26-1.

Remember, if you predict ANYTHING other than a cavalcade of glory for this team, you're not a REAL fan!

I really want to like you because you're a soccer fan, but all the snide comments like this are a bit much.

It's true, though, there's quite a group of posters around here who can't fathom how someone could be a fan of the Sox and not also see that they are currently very, very ****ty.

There's basically no reason to think the Sox won't be the same sort of around .500 but just a tiny bit worse team that they've been all year. So in 27 games, I say they win 12.

I said that as well. I'm hoping they can live up to it. A close to winless month wouldn't surprise me with this bunch.

What's the record for consecutive losses?

24, by the Cleveland Spiders in 1899.

Don't quite get why you ask, though. The Sox's longest losing streak so far has been two that have been four... in the first two weeks of the season.

Since then they haven't lost three straight, or been swept. They have become very comfortable with their win one lose one win two lose two rhythm.

Thought I'd bump this up to see how we all did (hope that's allowed?), since this month is now officially in the books. I thought I was being overly generous when I picked 15-20 wins, but I would never have guessed how well they would do. How did you all do?

Sox finished 18-9.

i was hoping that we could carry the momentum from the NL games into the games we are in now .. i guess we'll see .. i'll work on that lottery thing .. i actually had a dream that showed lotto numbers while out in the desert once .. got 5 right and won 75.00 lol .. that was over 15 years ago
