Yikes that Interleague schedule looks pretty rough, and my Twinks don't get the pleasure of kicking the Cubs teeth in this year.:(:

In losing a frustrating game against Texas, the Sox lost a chance to gain a game on both Detroit and Minnesota. Those two lost to teams that had combined for only 37 wins prior to Tuesday's games.

Don't worry, you'll still get to have your annual pounding of the Brewers.

3 of 4 lost to the Mariners.. Get well soon O-Dog before we comeback to the pack.:(:

Not the same since the Brew Crew sucks really bad, and I kinda like some of their players compared to the overpaid garbage the sCrUBS have.

Man I hate west coast trips, games ending at 1am are no fun.

And watching an infield of Valencia/Punto/Tolbert is torture... Hudson and Hardy need to comeback quick.

Meh. I think the makeup of this current Twins team is rather appealing, save Punto. It's a shame they are divisional foes.

They're good.Hurts to say it but we all know it.I wish that Kenny
would hire away a bunch of their people away and turn them loose
throughout our system. They actually do the things that Ozzie always
claims his teams will do.I think Thome made a comment about this
when Minny came to the cell earlier in the year.

You guys just had a World Series just a few seasons ago so there's that to hold onto.

No, I want a world series this year and the one after that. I have nothing to hold onto.

Holy ****, you sound like a 12-year-old drama queen. This season sucks. Yeah, I get that, but that doesn't mean 2005 is completely gone and irrelevant. If you don't believe me, there are 25 other fanbases who would likely trade places with us.

Absolutely right.

Seeing as it is 2010, I'd say 2005 is pretty irrelevant.

Hardly. Keep in mind that history didn't start ten minutes ago. And I have a long memory of Sox near misses and under capitalized teams that struggled to survive financially in the '70's let alone compete for a pennant. With that history in mind, 2005 continues to be a wonderful, recent memory.

In any event, back-to-back pennants are rare in baseball, let alone back-to-back World Championships. I went to a World Series game in 2005 and saw my team win and go on to sweep the Series. It's great thing to remember, one that can never be taken away.

It's something that will never be taken away. But you can't keep looking back to the past forever.

Unless you have nothing to look forward

Exactly who is looking in the past "forever"? Geez, remembering the past isn't the same as living in the past. And, you know, remembering the past is a big part of understanding that history didn't start ten minutes ago.

Sox fans -- particularly those of us who remember tough seasons like 1969 and 1970 -- have every right to savor the 2005 World Championship. That doesn't mean we live in the past.

I look at this way: if the starting pitching had come through this year, they would be still be in the mix for the AL Central, even with the bad offense. But the starting pitching has been bad. So, O.K., this isn't going to be the Sox year. That doesn't make me look to the past but rather to the future where I hope the Sox will have better days. I hope the Sox have a good day tommorrow with the amateur draft and, if they decide they cannot contend this year, I hope they can make deals to bolster the farm system and MLB roster with young talent going forward.
