Rumor started earlier today, and Brent posted about it just a bit ago. The speculation is that Teahen is going on the DL.

I'm hoping it's Vizquel. This team needs some defense.

Sadly, it needs both offense and defense.

Was hoping it was a typo...

Also - now all of the White Sox worries are just water under "The Bridge." Prepare for an awakening. Minimum five game win streak. I promise.

What's the word on Teahen?

Also, was Lillibridge taking Ozzie's talk to heart in AAA, i.e. bunting, using his speed and not trying to crush the ball?

I dunno, but...

Hitting .270, 19 for 22 in stolen bases. OPS of .708. 13 errors though. Yikes.

I'd imagine he will be sitting on the bench most of the time in favor of Nix/Omar.

Yeesh.....I mean Marks defense was bad but his offense was ok....Besides Nixs grand slam he hasnt been good and Omar is just bad offensively

Bring back Robin Ventura he's younger then Omar, and probably could still hit!

In 2010, it is Brent Lillibridge.

He had 26 errors last season, between the Sox and AAA.

If nothing else, at least we don't have to PR Omar Vizquel in late game situations. It's nice to have someone on the bench who can run faster than me.

I think you're selling Omar a little short when it comes to his speed. He can still get around the bases.

Meh, even if so, Omar's main contribution to this team is (BY FAR) his defensive prowess. Really, really kills that if we can't use him as a defensive sub because he's the only guy on the bench who can run.

One would hope Everett and Casilla would be upgrades over Lillibridge, considering that they are the starting SS for Detroit [in a platoon] and the [backup] utility IF for Minny, respectively, and Lillibridge can't crack our roster unless someone gets hurt.

Good enough to grab a baseball and fire it across the field? Good enough to hold onto a bat and connect with a 95 MPH fastball and not break down into a puddle of tears?

Good in an office isn't the same thing as good on the playing field.

I've sprained ankles and worked through them too, doesn't mean I could play a competitive sport on them...

Yes. Yes and if I ever made contact with a 95MPH fastball I would break down into a puddle of tears anyways.

I was playing catcher when I broke my finger and I finished the game (although I had to grip the ball like a change up...we only had nine guys that day for the game so I wasn't coming out), but I couldn't swing the bat worth a damn and didn't have much on my throws. Within two days I was able to grip the baseball normally and throw it (but this was not on a major league level, I could get it down to second well enough) and could make contact with the bat. I still have a little bump on my finger from where I broke it, and I don't think it was broken badly. No pins had to be inserted into my finger.
