I think the price tag is based more on the fact it's the only one in existence, rather than rookie hype. Either way, it's stupid. All the little gimmicks (cards with bits of jersey embedded into them, holograms, autographs, gold foil plated, etc.) destroyed the industry

His stuff looks pretty nasty from what I've seen on film...Will he be a bona fide star? Who knows but his stuff looks filthy.....

*****. There's no way in hell for you to make that determination. His sub-1 ERA in the minors is really proving your point.

Hater.

And this week Joe Borchard has a .327 average for Fresno in the Pacific Coast League this season.

A Stephen Strasburg baseball card is not a good investment on which to gamble your $15,000.

a signed 1/1 card of a guy who should live to be at the very least 70 should never be worth 15 grand.

In terms of an investment, that card will never be worth as much as it sells for on Ebay right now. It's kind of like driving a new car off the lot. It will never be worth as much as you bought it for.

The Pujols 2001 Bowman card goes for a nice chunk of change now (nowhere near 15K, mind you), but the people who are selling them now pulled them out of packs or bought them when they were much cheaper.
