Wow...too young to die of a massive heart attack.

Thanks for the memories, Lima Time. You'll be missed.

I seem to recall him being pretty animated and rather hyper up there on the mound, the heart attack really doesn't surprise me.

RIP

I don't think being animated on the mound has any direct correlation with heart disease.

He just seemed like a very hyper guy is all.

I thought that I heard Baseball Tonight say he died, but I was in the kitchen and though I was hearing things!

RIP Jose Lima. You were quite the character.

He was great in '98 and '99, then the Astros moved out of the Astrodome and he was never the same.

I was reading the summary of his career on Wikipedia, he sure had an up and down career but he was pretty damn entertaining.

48 homers given up in one season, 2 shy of the record.
6.99 ERA is the highest ever for a pitcher making 30 or more starts.
5 hit shutout of the Cardinals for the Dodgers first post season win since the 88 series.

I just saw him Friday at the Tigers-Dodgers game where he got a nice ovation. Stunning.

Wasn't he on the steroids list? I'm worried more of these guys are going to be dying young. RIP Lima Time
