Reds led 8-0 after an 8 run 2nd. The Braves chipped away but still trailed 9-3 going to the bottom of the 9th. Atlanta scored 3 runs but again still trailed by 3. Then with the bases loaded, Brooks Conrad, the career minor leaguer with 27 lifetime MLB at-bats stepped to the plate.

And are you kidding me? He capped off the rally with a walk-off grand slam to win 10-9?!

Down 3. Bot 9th. Bases loaded. I don't know how many times I've run that situation through my head. WOW! That is one of the coolest things I've ever watched in my entire life.

I saw Heyward get the first out...and my mom said she needed to watch Ellen.

Damn. 7 run bottom of the 9th?

Yeah, who hasn't played this scenario out as a kid a million times?

I did it in high school as a Freshman. 10 years later, still probably one of the top 3 moments of my life

Down 3, need 4 and get a grand slam? Unbelievable.

If this doesn't bring the Reds back to Earth, nothing probably will.

People here are pretty grounded after that loss, but at least the Reds get to play Cleveland this weekend, who they have played pretty well against the last few years (15-9 since 2006).

Unbelievable. I was following the game online.

I threw Leake out there in fantasy and he pitched a gem, only to end up with this mess.

1.50 ERA and 1.0 WHIP

Nice job by Chip Caray in destroying that big game moment with his terrible call. Hawk was needed in Atlanta today.

I hit a walk-off HR in high school, too. Probably still on my lifetime highlight reel.

This same scenario played out during a game of Strat-o-Matic I played...and it was the Braves that pulled it off too.

2005 teams: Mets @ Braves.

Mets scored 7 runs in the top of the 8th to take an 8-0 lead.

In the 9th, the Braves sent 13 men to the plate. Andy LaRoche and Rafael Furcal each hit multi-RBI homers, and the tying run scored off a wild pitch. Kelly Johnson (who had pinch hit earlier in the inning) ended up getting the walk-off base hit to cap the amazing 9-run 9th. I was shaking, even though it was "fantasy". I really felt like I witnessed history, in my own dorm room.

Which is why when I saw this happen, I had flashbacks. But to end it on a walk-off grand slam when you're down by 3? Conrad will be re-living that moment for the rest of his life.
