Ranger said on the post game show today that they drained fluid from Matt Thorton's elbw this week. They said it was nothing serious, but watching Matt shake out his arm in the ninth inning on Saturday does give me some concern.

The radar gun readings on tv and at the cell this year seem to be a bit generous this year, though Thornton looks to be a few ticks lower. Regardless, he's as nasty and effective as ever.

I thought he was playing against the Blackhawks right now. I keep hearing about some Thornton guy on the Sharks.

I just became conflicted about how the name Thornton made me feel inside.

The data points to his fastball velocity being pretty much in line with recent years.
