Ozzie said he told his players "the makeup game is in August, but most of you won't be here anyway.'' He was joking ... or maybe not. 11 minutes ago (http://twitter.com/cst_sox/status/14188246394) via web

We already have a series sweep under our belts. April 23-25 over the juggernaut known as the Seattle Mariners.

Oh, yeah. Forgot about that series that required two walk-offs to beat that elite squad.

Cowley says KW isn't trading anybody, but may shake up the coaching staff soon.

1. Not that I trust Cowley particularly, but
2. I don't see how he could be referring to anybody but Walker. I'm neutral on the Walker argument, leaning towards the side that says that hitting coaches don't have that much of an effect. Sure did the Cubs a hell of a lot of good last year.

Firing Walker may or may not make a difference. The situation with the Cubs doesn't tell us anything about the Sox one way or the other.

Personally, I think it's time for them to do something, whatever that may be. Send players down, shake up the coaching staff, trade someone, whatever.

The current dynamic isn't working, and I don't think it's gonna work.

I agree that something needs to be done. Problem is, noone knows what that something is. What we do know is, this horrible brand of ball has been played by the Sox since the second half of '06. Even in '08, a divisional title year, noone could hit. They were having meetings, Swisher initiated the Blow-Up Doll thing, there was a lot of tension between Ozzie, Kenny and Walker. Then they played better. Quentin and Alexei were winning games with homeruns, and the boppers started to hit. Then Carlos punched his bat and they lost their best player. '08 was followed by one of the least descriptive Sox seasons ever, which has continued into this year.

I was actually hoping they'd play today. I haven't had a chance to watch a game in a long time.

Win tomorrow!

So double header tomorrow or no? With the first game starting at 1, you think they'd have announced it by now.

So was I! The game was supposed to be on WCIU and since I don't have cable, that means I could've actually watched the game! :(:

No doubleheader tomorrow; it's a get-away day for both teams. With it being so early in the season, the Sox go back to Detroit enough times that a doubleheader will be scheduled for a later date.

I'm with you in that there is no way a new hitting coach will solve the teams problems, but I think it is about time that a new face would be nice.
