I was a Senior in HS when he debuted. I didn't think he would win 47 games in his career.

A 2-hit shutout at his age.... Wow!! The oldest MLB pitcher ever to throw one.

But you have to tip your cap. First guy in MLB history to be 20 games UNDER .500 and eventually be 30 or more games OVER .500.

He now has 262 wins. He could actually get 300 wins.

For now he is probably in Tommy John's or Jim Kaat's category regarding as just not being good enough even though the longetivity was there.

But if he gets 300, he has to go in.

The Phillies are so good it's not even funny.

It's nice to see a club that was in the dumps for so many years win a Championship and sustain a run.

Shame on the Sox for not being able to do something similiar.

The Sox had the disadvantage of playing in a division with three 90-win teams in 2006, while the Phillies continue to clean up the National League. Point taken, though. The Sox really were unlucky in regards to injuries though 2006 & 2007 (Crede, Contreras, Pods, Cotts, Politte, Thome, etc).

As good of a story as he is, there's no way he gets to 300.

Only if he pitches into his early 50's.
