A friend of mine told me over lunch that Brian Anderson is trying to become a pitcher and that he throws 95mph. Here is a link I found....

Can he become what Sergio Santos has become for the White Sox?

I wish him the best of luck.

The last line made me laugh, though. How good will he have to be, anyway?

There is a thread on this already.

Here is a more recent update.

All the best to Brian in his efforts, except against the Sox. He seems to have the heat, but let's see if he has the control. He could always be a last ditch sub in the OF or pinch hitter for the Royals if he made their MLB club out of the pen.

could be an interesting late game replacement, relief pitcher who's also a darn good CF with the leather and very ocassionally hits for power ... coming soon to an NL team near you

Why did Kenny give this guy so many chances? What a waste of time and money.

Tony LaRussa's mind is spinning with the double-switch possibilities!

If the Cardinals could just get a hold of BA and Micah Owings, and then talk Brooks Kieschnick into making a comeback, LaRussa would be in super duper double switch tinker heaven!

Has anyone heard anything more about this? I looked on the Idaho Falls roster for him, and he's not listed.

Baseball-reference has no minor league stats for him this year, either.
