Not a bad history of the relations between the owners and the players. Long, and quite the read, but you can sectionalize it to your interests....

Jeff Moorad is a high profile agent representing Manny Ramirez among others, so there may be that level of bias.

Thanks for the post and the link. I found a couple of things interesting.

1. He references Andrew Zimbalist's book quite a bit. Unless you're employed as an economist, THAT is some tough reading. He also cites John Helyar's book, which in turn borrows heavily from Marvin Miller's. Anyway, good source material.

2. He writes before the 1996 labor agreement was finally struck. I've long maintained, Reinsdorf's signing of Albert Belle was more motivated to spite his fellow owners who were about to cave to the union, rather than any sincere attempt to improve the Sox. I would have enjoyed his perspective on how the the 1994-96 dispute was finally concluded.
