The following is a list of the all-time "elusive" 1700 club:
Name Seasons Games At-Bats Strikeouts
1 Reggie Jackson 21 2820 9864 2597
2 Jose Canseco 17 1887 7057 1942
3 Willie Stargell 21 2360 7927 1936
4 Mike Schmidt 18 2404 8352 1883
5 Andres Galarraga 17 2066 7573 1871
6 Tony Perez 23 2777 9778 1867
7 Dave Kingman 16 1941 6677 1816
8 Bobby Bonds 14 1849 7043 1757
9 Dale Murphy 18 2180 7960 1748
tie Sammy Sosa 14 1792 6710 1748
11 Fred McGriff 17 2266 8103 1738
12 Lou Brock 19 2616 10332 1730
13 Mickey Mantle 18 2401 8102 1710

Some stats:
Jose Canseco has the mose K's per game (over 1 K per game)
Sammy has the most K's per season (provided that he gets 10 more this year
Jose also leads in K's per at-bat.
Perhaps the biggest irony is that the only player ti get to 1700 strikeouts in less seasons is .....Barry's dad. If that strike in 94 just had not happened.

And yes Sammy is ahead of Reggie's pace. At the end of 13 seasons, Reggie had 1606 strikeouts, while Sammy had 1690.

Sorry if this bored you, I had some free time, and I was curious. Thought that you guys might find it interesting.

Looks like Shammy will be a solid second place by the end of next season.
