As of 4/26/10, the Chicago White Sox are dead last in MLB with a .222 BA...28 out of 30 with a .303 OBP...

As of 4/26/10, the Chicago White Sox also share the lead in MLB in homeruns with the Diamondbacks and Bluejays @ 26...and also have the least amount of strikeouts in MLB @ 96.

Thank God we have a hitting coach that can teach guys how to hit homeruns and not strike out....GO GREG WALKER!

The Sox have zero super bowls as of this posting.

Actually the homer/k rate is awesome! Lead the league in homers while last in strikeouts is something to talk about. The average and the OBP will eventually correct itself.

I still say Rios is playing better than what his stats say. He's had quite a few line drives hit right at the defense. If he keeps this up he'll be good for close to a .300 average.

I was reading an article on FOX Sports that said the White Sox were dead last for BABIP.

The low strike out rate just goes even farther to state that this is more a string of bad luck than anything we saw in the beginning. I think things are going to start turning our way with Rios, Paulie, Andruw, and Teahen doing better.

Not sure. But Ozzie is pretty high in the BS department.

Funny you should ask. I don't know the answer to that. But on Saturday I had the Yankees-Angels game on, and one of the announcers extolling the virtues and versatility and success of the Yankees offense said they were only one of two teams this season to have at least X stolen bases and more than X home runs. Impressive stuff, the color man agreed.

The only other team to accomplish such offensive excellence, the announcer added, was the White Sox.

The White Sox are tied with Tampa for the lead league in steals with 21.

Now find a way to get on base and we may have something here.

HOLD ON! I believe I need to refute my own post here..

I've forgotten what I've learned from the experts here, that a hitting coach has very little to do with the offensive output of any given team.

never mind

This is a VERY good thing, at this point in the season, at least(being dead last in BABIP)...lady luck has not shined on the Sox, at all really, so far. That will even out for the most part, over 162 games. The hitting numbers are due for a significant increase in short order...I'm 99.9% sure of it!
