Thought this thread was a good idea last year.

I didn't feel like derailing the Sox post-game thread for this.

Twins beat the Royals on a very controversial play.

It wasn't even close. Would have brought the winning run to the plate for the Royals. Ump just wanted to go home. Even the Twins announcers called him safe initially.

Play isn't up just yet on mlb.com but you could probably see it on the at-bat if you go to the wrap of the game.

Sox, Tigers, Twins, and Indians all win today

current standings:

1) Twins 13-5
2) Tigers 10-8
3) Indians 8-9
4) White Sox 7-11 6.0 GB
5) Royals 6-11

That call was big time BS. The poor ump didn't want to go more than he already had. Because calling outs at second must be exhausting.

Other than that, I am actually surprised with the way the Twins and Tigers have been playing. The closer situation in Minnesota doesn't seem to be a big issue and Damon is doing well in Detroit. While both are bad signs to come for our Sox, I also like how our crew is competing. I think that Ozzie brings the attitude that they are never out of a game and it has showed the past two games. Hopefully they keep it up and eventually overcome the ****ty start.

I wouldn't say the Twins beat the Royals on that one call. The Royals play is the last few innings was some of the worst I've seen recently. They beat themselves.

They did, but still no excuse for the umpire to blow a call like that.

Yeah, it was truly horrible. Two of the worst moments:

Jose Guillen starting to leave the field after hitting a game-TYING double in the 10th inning. He thought the game was over. Luckily for him, the umpire at 2nd (the one who blew the call later) said something to him before he got too far away.

Alex Gordon, in a situation where everyone in the stadium knew Casilla was bunting in the 11th, for some reason was playing too far back to even get the out at first base. Unbelievable.

Same old Royals.

Seriously, umpires should be fired for stuff like this.

:twinslose

Thome strikes out in the 9th with the tying run on 2nd.

Royals win 4-3

Tigers losing to the Rangers 8-4 in the 6th

Indians down 3-0 to the A's in the 4th
Sox gain a game on the Twins.

Man did that slider look good, like 2006 all over again.:o:
Minor bad news from the game is Justin tweaked his back.

And I feel bad Zack Greinke, the bullpen screws him out of another win.
Just pathetic that Royals bullpen.

Twinkies getting hammered now. Their awful pitching is finally showing its true colors.

Don't worry about the Twins' pitching imploding. They still get to pitch to the Sox 16 more times.

They got Austin Jackson back in that Granderson deal. He's got a chance to be a superstar.

Gardy putting the B lineup out there on getaway days is starting to get annoying this season. No Mauer, Morneau, Hardy today.

What? You mean other managers don't play their best players every game?! Even the exhalted Gardenhire? :o:
