One could make a case that one Brother Matthias at St Mary's School for Boys in Baltimore may have made baseball the game we love.

He did introduce one George H Ruth to the game

Wow! I never would have recognized Babe in that 1912 picture. He was actually skinny once! :D: Hopefully they can raise the needed money to keep that diamond.
