Aaron Rowand has two small fractures in his cheek and a concussion via a beanball from Vicente Padilla.

Shocking.

Padilla wore out his welcome in Texas with his own teammates because they were tired of eating baseballs for him.

At least he is in the NL now. You might be able to pull this **** in the AL, but you know the next time he bats against the Giants, he's getting one off the ear. And rightfully so.

He's more than earned it, but I'd like to see MLB do something about it, too. A ten game suspension would be nice.

He's a complete tool but after watching it and knowing the situation, I don't think he intentionally tried to hit him. If Rowand hit a homer off of him earlier, I'd say yes.

Kemp almost got hit earlier in the game. I don't know, looked pretty intentional and it doesn't really help that Padilla has a history of related incidents.

Things are naturally a little heated between the Dodgers and Giants anyway, and this year with the Giants apparently fielding a team that will be in the division race and the teams playing each other so often. One of the ugliest fights in baseball history took place in Candlestick in 1965 with Juan Marichal hitting hitting Dodgers catcher Johnny Roseboro in the head with a bat a couple of times. Padilla pitching for the Dodgers against the Giants seems like a powder keg ready to be ignited.
