I listened to the game on the radio, so maybe Gregg was very hard to hit, but god damn, that top of the ninth sounded embarrassing.

Yeah, he pitched great. I was disappointed in those inept ABs against Gregg in the ninth, however.

Nevertheless, you're not going to win too often when you get a pitching performance like that against you. Gavin just got outpitched.

My problem isn't with Romero, but that 9th inning sounded just pitiful...I was about to knock Quentin, but really, his numbers are pretty good. I guess it's just every time I happen to see him at bat (I haven't seen many games this year FYI) it's either a pop up or a strike out. So, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm not really disappointed... I'm just glad it was Rios to get the hit. The offense looked good yesterday, and they got out played today. He pitched a great game... you just don't strike out a team 12 times because the other team sucks, it still takes a great game. I expect a rebound tomorrow.

From what I saw, he looked really tough, I know. Really accurate and super confident up there.

Didn't know he won 13 games last year. I'm kicking myself for not picking him up in fantasy, while someone else nabbed him off the waiver wire.

There's more to a 1 hitter than just "The other guy was too good."

I know he's brilliant as well, and probably more-so than Romero, but Jorge De La Rosa 1 hit the Padres this year over 7 innings. Was it just that De La was too good or does the fact that the Padres have an awful offense factor in there at all?

The bullpen and rotation has been good enough to keep us in every game,so I am ok with it so far. Even tho the Sox had not seen Romero before, I think tonite,it might not have mattered...he was working in perfect concert with his catcher, and the ump,who did find that low outside spot that Romero kept hitting with his curve,to his liking...and it was unhittable. I think our hitters knew it was coming on the first pitch and still could not hit it...ouch.

154 games to go, that is the best thing. Just need to hit tomorrow,so this does not become a trend.

That curve he struck out Jones with the first time up was not a strike. You never know what might change the complexion of the game.
