Yeah, funny! I liked the one about when he went to a Sox game best. :D:

"Whenever I make these complaints to Cubs fans, I am laughed down from my soapbox. “C’mon, loosen up and give being a Cubs fan a try. You’ll have fuuuuuun!” Apparently, if I forget the little details like watching the game or staying sober enough to remember where I live, I’ll enjoy myself. Okay, Cubs fans, you win. For one season only, I am checking my knowledge of baseball, my relative sobriety, my education, and my self respect at the door. Please follow my exploits as I spend this season as the WORLD’S NUMBER ONE CUBS FAN, starting………….now!"

At least he gets it...

Sounds like he ripped off Julie & Julia, right down to the wording of the paragraph.

This is a farce right? It's ballsy one- I'll say that much.

Naw, he should hang out with Woo Woo for a few innings. That will drive anyone sane.

Oh, man. The Sox game one is hilarious...

Funny, funny stuff. If anyone here remembers a website called "The Lincoln Park Trixie Society" which made fun of all things Lincoln Park (Jettas! Mochachinos! The Cubbies!!!" this guy takes the concept to a higher level.

Way to go, broseph! *high five*

Okay, this line killed me:

Re: going to a Sox game

They just kept looking at the field all the time (BORING!)

The experiment is very similar, and the wording of the paragraph sounded quite similar as well:

Okay, Cubs fans, you win. For one season only, I am checking my knowledge of baseball, my relative sobriety, my education, and my self respect at the door. Please follow my exploits as I spend this season as the WORLD’S NUMBER ONE CUBS FAN, starting………….now!"

Government drone by day, renegade foodie by night. Too old for theatre, too young for children, and too bitter for anything else, Julie Powell was looking for a challenge. And in the Julie/Julia project she found it. Risking her marriage, her job, and her cats’ well-being, she has signed on for a deranged assignment. 365 days. 536 recipes. One girl and a crappy outer borough kitchen.

It just sounded familiar to me. But that's just me.

Funny stuff, but not downright hilarious. I've heard a bunch of these stereotypes before.

I'll always remember one afternoon when I was strolling around in Evanston. I couldn't help overhearing a bunch of girls talking about how excited they were to go to the Cubs game, and how there was "no point in watching the game" when they were there, since they planned on meeting guys. They're giving girls who actually like baseball (like me!) a bad name!

Don't blame Evanstonians! I grew up with plenty of Sox fans.

Wait, some people didn't immediately pick up on this satire? I think it is pretty funny. But as someone said, it would be even better if he toned it down and wasn't so over the top about it.

I have a friend who knows the dude who made this satiric blog. The blog's author is a Reds fan. I just hope he keeps this up the whole season!

I do too, although it seems like a pretty tall order! I already added it to my Favorites.

I'm just glad he's not a Sox fan. I think the blog is hilarious but the only thing keeping me from forwarding it to certain Cub fans I know is the likelihood they'll respond with the accusation that the dude is really just a Sox fan who is more interested in bashing the Cubs than supporting his own team.

Not blaming them. I live on the Northside, which is a cesspool of Cubs fans. I should have become one for practical reasons, because the commute to Wrigley on the el is a lot shorter.

Yeah, so do I. I can see Clark from my bedroom window, Wrigley is three miles south of me.
