Okay, now that's twice I've heard it on the radio and no, not WGN.
"Today is opening day in Chicago"
What's up with that?

WGN is the flagship radio station of the Cubs. Today is their Home Opener. It's not that big of a deal.

They have to cater to Cub fan listeners, too. Give them a break.

Not only is it not a big deal, it is also true. Today IS Opening Day in Chicago. Just as last Monday was, too.

This morning on the Drive 97.1 they were marvelling about how warm the weather was going to be for "Opening Day". I thought it was actually pretty chilly compared to OUR opening day, a week ago!

He did say "not WGN". I think he might have been referring to The SCORE.

Regardless, though, they it's not a big deal. A lot of their people have been saying "Cub Opening Day" anyway.

It's also Opening Day in Minnesota. I might turn that on [on MLB.tv] in a bit to see their new stadium.

Opening Day in St. Louis, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Seattle, San Diego, and Toronto, too.

Is it true they have ten hours of pre-game coverage?

I'll try that, though I haven't gotten that to work lately on my computer [though right now I'm on my sister's].

The Minnesota coverage does, not ESPN.
