Wins this series that is... I'm going with 1 and it will be tonight.

I'm going with three. But I'm an optimist.

*SPOILER ALERT*

I was told by an astute mind in the postgame thread that the Sox will give up 20 runs tomorrow, so you guys might not want to watch that game.

Doesn't hurt that the Twins got in at 5-6am this morning, and they have a night game tonight, and a noon start on Saturday. Let's put it this way...if the Sox don't win this series, it's pretty sad.

Hmm... let see.

Tonight is in the low 50's/upper 40s so I'd say 5 hits and 3-4 runs. Toss up for a win.

Tomorrow is going to be in the mid-60s so they'll hit and win a close one, since Freddy will be probably by out by the 5th.

Sunday I'm going, so they better win, plus Mark is pitching.

I'll go with two.

Danks has always pitched Minnesota tough, and I'm hoping Buehrle stays in his zone, so I'll say 2.

Of course, I'm going Saturday. :whiner:

The Twins just took 3 of 4 from the Angels and Jim Thome hit a 3 run HR for them yesterday. The Sox better get their **** together or it's going to be a harsh weekend.

I'm glad that we don't need Jim Thome in our lineup. DHs and HRs are soooo out of style.

He also whiffed three times; we would crucify him for that 'round these parts

With Danks and Buehrle starting two of the games, will Thome even be in the lineup much?

I'm going with two wins. I think we will rough up Liriano tonight and Buehrle will take the rubber match Sunday. I might be wrong though, the Sox always had a problem with winning on Friday and Sunday last year.

They won quite a few Fridays, IIRC. I went to a lot of Friday games last season. Sunday was the one where we always seemed to lose.

But no matter. This is a new season, new traditions!

Edit - I picked two.

They'll take 2, and head to Toronto .500.

I hope Ozzie learns from his mistakes of making certain people bunt, and lets some hit and run offense at the top of the lineup take hold.

What mistakes? No one can drive runs in to save their life, so he's going for one run. Had one of our two best hitters managed a single, we would have won.

BTW - those new Twins road unis are sweet... I'd love to see us do something similar, as the current road grays are a bit dull.

I don't know, I think stylistically they're the exact same thing we have.

IMO the Twins' uniforms look much worse than ours, and they resemble the Detroit away uniforms (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ALC-Uniform-DET.PNG) more than anything.

I said I'm nervous about the possibilty of it happening. I didn't say it would happen. Hope Garcia proves me wrong.

Yeah, I like our road greys. The Twins' are OK, anything beats those fugly pinstriped greys from yesteryear (http://photos.upi.com/topics-Justin-Morneau/4b2f39b3278a38fa25abc0a5be4d67fe/Justin-Morneau_8.jpg). I'm not a big frills guy with my jerseys, though, city name and maybe number is all you need. No reason to get fancy.

The Twins road unis are a mess - blue outlined in red and red outlined in blue, solid color navy names, a script that doesn't match their newly redesigned primary script/logo, and a hat identical to their division rival Indians? Fail.

As for our road unis, I think they are the best in baseball. We just need to wear them more.

Yes, we were 8-19 on Sundays.

I like Johnny Danks tonight, but Liriano scares the **** out of me.
I have no idea what we are going to get out of Garcia.
Buehrle will win Sunday.

We will get at least one.

Sorry, but I'm not a fan of Sox road jerseys. Especially the loopy "Chicago" script and the "ringer" white/black on the ends of the sleeves. They're starting to show their age. I prefer the black jerseys to them at this point. (I know, blasphemy.)

For the new Twins road jerseys, the two-tone letters stands out much more on the actual ballplayers (I watched an Angels-Twins game) than on jersey photos, and the grey looks darker. I also love the old T-C hat.

Who needs a slugger like Big Jim? Mark Kotsay is the best defensive DH in the league. Maybe Kenny better start doing his job instead of taking advice from Ozzie.

I will go with one win. I am hopeful we can get two. My 80 win prediction could be a little generous the way things have looked the past two days.

Twins will mash, Liriano will shut us down. Danks will throw a nice game, but it wont be enough with our offense.

...And then, there will be posters who will call others "dark clouds" for pointing out the shortcomings of the offense. They'll tell us that "it's early, don't worry about it...."

As some other posters here , I am a little worried.
I think if the weather is nice this weekend , the crowd will be there in full force and maybe , just maybe -- that will get the boys fired up --

I said two , but in reality that is optimisitc ---

I know we are only 3 games into the season , but the last two nights were heartbreaking when the run production was poor :(

I am not in panic mode ... look at the Tigers , didn't they like lose ten or so games to start the season and ended up okay ??
