I'll probably be watching baseball in one form or another for a good 10 hours today.

I've got the Cards/Reds game on at work right now, Pujols went yard in his first at bat.

Baseball is back!

Gotta love President Obama coming out wearing the Nats jacket, and then rockin the White Sox cap once he got on the mound. Still threw like a sissy...
(not trying to be political...please don't turn it into that, just commenting on a White Sox fan throwing out the first pitch)

In the National League, where pitchers come to the plate, he will face some behavior modification.

Flipped to the tigers-royals game and Getz was up vs Verlander with two out nobody on...he hits a rope homer down the line that was foul by a foot, then works to a full count, and hits a line drive base hit, steals second, Dejesus gets infield hit, and then Pods has a classic grinder at bat, down 0-2, works a walk on 8 pitch at bat...Billy Butler gets up with sacks packed and gets a clean single to right ,score two...verlander pissed...Tiger were down 4-1....sorry, but I still root for Getz and Pods.

What's with the hype on Jason Heyward? His minor league stats show he has good average, OBP... but he sure doesn't look like a monster. Unless of course I'm looking at the wrong guy.

What's with the hype of arguably the number one prospect in baseball? The fact that he possesses all the tools, has a great plate approach, takes walks, has great pitch recognition, can steal some bases, can hit for power, can hit for average, play great defense, and oh, he's only 20 years old. He is the complete package, and once he puts everything together he will be a superstar.

Monster = Pujols, which he didn't even put up Pujols-type stats in the minors. I would use different wording to describe a player like him. Only 3 starts in AAA, I was kind of skeptical when I saw his stats. I've never heard of the guy, all I saw were his bating stats, and I wasn't knocked out of my shoes impressed. Just saying. I'd still want him in out system / on our team, I just wanted some info on the guy is all.

I can't cast any other judgment on the guys because again... I've never heard of him. I don't really care for prospects, especially ones of the NL variety. I do like knowing what players his HR as their first hit, that's what sparked my interest. (Dye & Fields, just two examples)
