Sox finish 3rd, rematch of 08 WS (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/joe_posnanski/03/30/al.central/index.html)

Getting picked by SI usually means bad things ahead, so I like our chances now.

The White Sox are a better team than the Tigers are. Let's start the games already!

While I agree that run production could be an issue, I think they're severely underestimating the potential of the pitching staff.

The print edition of The Sporting News had them second behind Minnesota. Todd Jones though said they are the one team in the division that could prove the TSN experts wrong.

Agreed, they are looking at Peavy's total 09 and assuming because we pitch in a bandbox he will be worse. They obviously looked at the whole and not a 1.20 ERA post-trade last year. Floyd and Danks are without a doubt the most underrated 1-2 punch in baseball IMO. I may be a homer, but they are definitely up there.

Todd Jones, the former Detroit closer?

I love how these "experts" are sweeping us under the rug based on our offense, especially after saying we have the best pitching...

Hopefully the joke will be on them.

I prefer this spot anyway.
A rematch of the '08 WS is very possible, with the Phils getting Halladay and having that offense, with the Rays getting a closer and still having a tough, fast lineup.

I am really looking forward to the "mediocrity" of the Twins being showcased now that they lose their Home Dome advantage. Visiting teams just seemed flat when playing there hoping to escape the dome with 1 win.
