Im going with 90-72, good enough to win the Central division.

Ha, I was dead wrong last year. Hope I'm right this year. 86-90 wins. That's what I chose last season.

I'd slide the category over just a bit, if I had a choice, and go 88-92. Since I can't, I'll stay at 86-90.

I'm going with 88, which should be enough to take the AL Central.

I said 91 in the pre-season prediction contest, so I am sticking to that here. My prediction is based upon anticipating career norms from most people, a monster year from TCQ, at least a decent showing from Jones, and only 1 or 2 subpar years for the rest of the roster.

I say 161-1.

I say 161-1.

Buehrle will pitch another No Hitter the 2nd to last game of the season. As in seasons past, his success leads to a slump of one game, losing to the lowly Indians 2-1. :D:

89 will be the win total, but that is going to take a lot for the pitching staff. I have a feeling the pitching will get us through the year, and the offense will have its days. It's sort of deflating.

Including the playoffs, 173-0.

Do people really think this team will win close to 90 games? I am shocked. This will probably be a very frustating year as our offense is the worst it has been in many years. I say 79-83 wins is an accurate estimate.

I have no reason to believe our offense will be good enough, but I love our pitching. 90-72 can be had with a healthy Quentin, a bounce back from Rios and a DH pick up in the season.

81 to 85. Hard to win 90 when the offense is only putting up 3 runs a night.

There was no option for "162" so I voted for 95+

I was shocked to find that I was the only one who had done so.

I say 85 wins. More if we can score runs. Hope to be in the hunt for first, at the very least.

The Sox have what should be a very easy schedule with plenty of games against weak teams from the AL Central and particularly easy NL opponents, so 91-95 wins should be achievable with good pitching and an average offense.

This also holds true for the rest of the ALC.

I agree on both counts! The record for the AL Central champion White Sox will be 88-74. As for the naysayers on the offense, I have faith in KW that, if the rotating DH thing is not working, an adjustment will be made.

We know that our pitching will be good. If it is really special, we could win 90 games, despite some less than exemplary hitting and some mediocre defense in spots.

But how can the Sox pick up another win after winning 4 in the World Series?

84-85 wins and 2nd or 3rd place.

Although Catcus league win totals don't matter, I think their play in AZ has given us a peek (almost daily) of how this team can lose games. The offense that Ozzie wanted will have trouble scoring a lot of runs. The pitching will be above avg but not lights out. We're only slightly above average.

I think Rios will be solid. Quentin will not repeat his 2008 success. Jones won't maintain success over an entire season. Konerko will continue a slow decline.

Peavy will be an ace for us, but I can see Buehrle, Danks, and Floyd all being good most of the time but with rough stretches too. I'm not sure Freddy can hold down the 5th spot for the entire season. The bullpen will be pretty good, but I expect Jenks to continue to decline.

Ah....typical posts from LYS and Homefish.....and back-to-back no less. These posts are the opposite of back-to-back homeruns. They're like back-to-back stinkin' turds. Gotta love their eternal optimism.

Seriously though 76 wins? .500 Ball? With our rotation and bullpen? Seriously?

Hey, if his prediction of 75 worked in 2005, I say don't mess with success.
