Although I think the Cubs bashing sometimes gets a little ridiculous at this site, I figured everyone would appreciate this quote from Duke's coach. Coach K comparing the Yankees and Cubs when talking about expectations is a perfect example of how the Cubs are a truly national joke, not just a local target of Sox fans.

In the 29 years that Coach K was at Duke and the Cubs were owned by the Tribune, these are the numbers:

Number of losing seasons:
Cubs-18
Duke-2

Winning percentage:
Cubs-48%
Duke-78%

Final Fours/World Series:
Cubs-0
Duke-10

Titles:
Cubs-0
Duke-3

But I bet they have the same percentage of sellouts at their stadiums which is the most important, you know.

If I remember correctly, Krzyzewski was raised on the Northside. Probably grew up a Cubs fan and by now has decades of disgust with the franchise.

"Thank goodness" is my favorite part of that quote.

Attended Weber High School.

To be fair to the Cubs, a final four appearance would be equal to an NLCS appearance, not a WS appearance. So wouldn't the Cubs then have 3 "Final Four" apperances?

Also, a winning percentage of .600 in baseball is equal to that of around, say, .800 in college hoops, considering that the non-conference schedule is, for the most part, a joke. Nonetheless, a funny quote. Makes make hate Duke just a little less.

The Cubs are also competing with 15 teams, while Duke has to deal with 300-plus other squads.

Duke "competes" with 300-plus squads, but let's be real, at least 2/3 of them have no chance. The larger number of teams plays into Duke's favor, too. More teams = thinner talent.

In all actually it's only 65. Once you're in the tourney, the other schools go away.
