Pretty cheap. Would rather have had Garko than Jones for the same money.

Good move for the M's. I think he could finally put it all together and have a great season.

The Mariners will be an enjoyable team to watch, but the back 3 of that rotation doesn't instill much confidence. Even if you are high on Rowland-Smith, Snell and Fister are rather mediocre. The defense on that team is real nice though.

Garko did nothing for the Giants at the end of last season and even looked bad not doing it. The National League seemed to expose his weaknesses as a hitter and defender.

That thought crossed my mind. Really, I would expect the worst-case predictions/guesses for Jones with the White Sox to be about what I would expect from Garko if the White Sox had signed him.

They should give him larges bonuses based on sb's. :tongue:
