My highest was '09, when I went to 6 games, plus one Pirates game.

This season I'm looking at 6-10. :bandance:

EDIT: can a mod change the third option to "7-10"? Thanks.

13, which was last season. I plan to go to even more this season. I'm saving up already. There's nothing like realizing you don't have anything to do that night, and then remembering the Sox are in town, then catching the Red Line to the Cell. I miss it. T-minus 68 days! I'm extremely fortunate to live just an el ride away.

40 home games in 2005, plus 3 road games at Wrigley.

I think around 15ish which was last season. Will likely top that total this summer being closer to the city than in previous years.

You have no idea how envious I am of you. Is it sad that that concept is a sizeable amount of the reason why I'd love to live in the city someday? I don't think so. Makes perfect sense. Also, StubHub is God for getting cheap tickets the day of a game. I've noticed that singles in particular on the lower level can be really cheap.

Shame there is not a Red Line doubleheader this summer. Probably the only occasion in which I'd go to a Cubs game. (unless I got free tickets and they were playing a team I liked like the Brewers or Giants)

I went down to the Cell one Friday after waiting too long to order tickets online and almost got stuck with a 500-level ticket, but since I was alone, I got a really nice seat along the first baseline.

Hell, baseball is a part of why I plan to live in Chicago permanently after graduation in May.

If I can't get a lower level seat for under $30-35, I'm fine with upper deck, especially if it's in the vicinity around home plate. I like to mix it up and do half and half over the course of the season. In general I try to get tickets for under $25 or so. Anywhere in the park is good enough for me.

I've never done the "bleachers" though. Closest I've done to that is the second section (110, I think) into left field.

Actually, I paid more for that 1st baseline seat than I did for my ticket to the Blackout game, which cost about $38. Hell of a deal.

I do the bleachers whenever my school sells $5 tickets in that area, which they do several times a year. But they never announce it beforehand, just when they get the tickets in. I missed out twice because of that.

42 games in '04. No chance of coming close to any repeat performances for quite some time.

The season has 81 home games, why is the top choice 31+? Those of us who are full season ticket holders call 32 games an off year.

80 is my record.

I went to 12 games in 2002, the summer between high school and college for me. My friends and I went tailgating almost every 1/2 Price Monday and I went to a few more games with family.

Depending on how things work out with my job these next few weeks, there's a chance I may shatter that record this year.

The 1993 season, I attended about 60 games. I averaged 40 a year after that through the 1998 season. Since then, it's been 8 or so a year.

Four last year - all after the All-Star break. Would like to go to about 9 or 10 this year, if all things go well. I probably should have just invested in the 11-game Ozzie package.

Probably 6 or 7 sometime between 2001-2004, when I was home for a whole summer in high school and college.

Although there was one season [somewhere in that same time period] I went to about a dozen baseball games overall, not just as USCF.

FielderJones

Probably ~25 or so in 1977. I was fresh out of college, had my own car, had some walking around money, and the team was exciting. I'd go to almost every weekend game when the Sox were in town. Tickets were cheap, even for a young kid. I think center field bleachers were $1.00 that season.

01-26-2010, 12:00 PM
I'm not exactly sure... I try to go to at least one game per month. I'll say 6 to play it safe, although it may have been more in '05.

In the '72 season, we used to barrel down on a moment's notice. Such a fun year.

For $3, you could get an upper-deck reserved grandstand seat next to the press box.

I made 72 games in 2008, including the 2 division series games and the blackout.

2009, I was able to get to 58. In 2007 I made only about 40....but who can blame me. After the end of May, we were in real trouble.

I hope to make a ton in 2010, but I doubt it will be anywhere as many as 08. Less day games during the week does mean that I will be able to make more during the week though. I hope that I see some good baseball this summer. With I want to say 63 days to opening day, I can't wait. MMMMM grilled onions and warm weather.

Three, twice ('08 and '09). Sadly, all those are away games. I've been to only one game at the Cell, seeing as how I've never lived in the midwest. :(:

Hoping to catch a few up in Arlington this year, and if I'm lucky, I'll make a trip up there to see a few games and enjoy the city. :gulp:

The one summer that I lived in the city (2002), I went to about 25 games including a couple at Wrigley. I was never above 3 before that year or any year since. I won't have a chance to go to that many games until I'm retired probably.

ohthosechisox
01-26-2010, 04:05 PM
I went to 13 games in 2007 (+4 spring training games). I didn't have the Ozzie plan, but a family friend gave us a lot of his season tickets that season. Surprisingly, despite their horrible record that year, I did manage to witness 7 victories.

For the past two seasons, I've been going to at least 5-10 games a year. My family has been trying to go to some away games more often now to see new ballparks, so that cuts down a little bit on the amount of home games I go to.

I think my record for Sox games in a season is 10 in 2000, including game 1 of the ALDS. If you count all MLB games, I've been over 40 a couple seasons. I'm a Nats partial season ticket holder.

I went to 28-30 in 2006 when I had a partial season ticket package, and then like 20 the following year. Prior to that my high was around 11-12, then in 08 I didn't go to any, followed by 3 last year. I live too far away from the park to keep season tickets unfortunately. This year might be around the same, but the ball games should go up as I'm hoping to go to a lot of Lake County Fielders games, since it's only like 10 min away.

soxfan21
01-26-2010, 09:29 PM
34 in 2008, + 2 playoff games. I try to make as many games in my season ticket package as possible plus a few other games here or there, but it's going to be a little harder this season because of my work schudule, but hopefully I make around 25 or so games this year.

In 1990, Comiskey Park's farewell year (and we were yet w/o children, so we only needed 2), we got the 20 Game Winner package. Plus, I think I went to a few other games besides those.
Pre-children - man, that feels like 100 years ago sometiimes...

I doubt that we'll approach that any time soon.

In 1990 I went all of them, and many more on the road in MIL and KC.

I even sat in the park all day during the seemingly 27-hour rain delay against TEX.

A fun, fun year!!! IT was great being young with no responsibility.

It also helped that ticket prices were much lower and players would leave some for you as well.

We generally get to about 15-20 games per year...its six hours each way on the train so its a major effort to get up to the city. I'm not sure what our maximum has been.
We try to do 3-4 games per trip.

I went to about 25 games in 2000. It was an extremely fun season. I used to buy the 7 game plans and then go to almost all the half price games and Saturday games. The best part was the Sox won about 21 of the 25 games I attended. I was at a lot of the memorable games that year too. The Opening Day Ray Durham catch, Sean Lowe picking off Mark Grace, Ray Durham walkoff double in extras against the Cubs, Valentin's walk off hit of the Yankees, and unfortunately our quick playoff exit against Seattle.:(:

1 per year now that The Cel is 900 miles away, and the closest AL team is in Dallas (never seen them there yet).

Back in the day- 2005 I had to have gone to 10+ games.

I had some cash on me, and I insisted I was going to see the clinching game. So I purchased like the last 15 games in a row. When it became obvious that they weren't clinching at home, I had to unload some stinkers at a loss.

But I did make a habit of going to 3-4 of them.
