Mentions that he did want to go to the Cubs last winter, but re-iterates that the reason he came here was for a chance to win which he feels we have a great shot at.

I love this guy.

Peavy does give great interviews. I like what he said about Danks and Floyd "they're bulldogs" much respect to Buehrle. Too bad he thought the Cubs were going all the way. :o:

Well, on paper (with him) they would have been the clear cut favorites in the NL. They were already the favorites in the NL without Jake. No one could have anticipated the horrible offensive years by Bradley and Soto, and the injury to Ramirez.

The Cubs had a real solid team on paper last season.

If he truly thinks this team can win another WS, I hope that mentality can carry over to the other 24 guys on the roster. Can't wait for Opening Day.

Can we just place a "C" on his jersey already.
It seems like this guy is going to be the new captain of this team.

Welcome to it, Jake.

Nice . I like this guy so much that I switched from a Fender to a Peavey amplifier.

I'm reserving judgement until I see how he throws for us - but I am optimistic!

I'm assuming your television and radio were off on September 19th, 25th, and October 2nd.

He was 3-0 with a 1.35 era in three starts for us while pitching at 80%.

Jake Peavy will be the **** alright.

I can't believe I actually read that.

I think the previous poster is like a lot of Chicago sports fans and he doesn't want to have to jump ship if Peavy is terrible. That type of person tends to be more even tempered when the going gets tough.

3 games isn't much of a sample size, especially when you consider they were against the powerhouse Royals and the stumbling, bumbling Tigers twice.

That said, Jake Peavy is roughly #25 on my Top 10 Reasons to be Worried About the 2010 Sox.

I forgot teal, sorry. I was speaking mostly in a literal sense because quite obviously jabrch has seen Jake Peavy "throw for us"

BEST PART OF THAT LINK:

NBC's Conan O'Brien: "Yesterday, there were rallies for me in cities across the country, including in Chicago. You can tell things are bad when Cubs fans feel sorry for you.":D:

Can Opening Day be moved to, say, tomorrow?:D:
