Fun read about Beckham from Cowley.

I know it goes right along with the fluff pieces being pumped out before Soxfest, but it gets me excited to see him play for a full season, and years to come.

I'm also looking forward to seeing him play 2b. I think that's where he has been headed all along, and as usual he sounds confident about it.

"I'll be very good by June." ugh.

We better not be heading into another season where Spring Training extends through April and May.

Hate to speak for the guy, but I don't think Bacon said he was going to suck until June.

I think you went a little literal there

Agreed.

I think he meant it as it will only take him that long to be one of the best at the position in the game. I'll take just really gosh dang good for a month and a half.

In another Sox-related article in the Sun-Times, they introduced all of the new players. The comments for Pierre and Vizquel were exactly the same about helping the young infielders and being solid clubhouse presences.

Nice copy-editing. Isn't Pierre an outfielder?

Cowley doesn't do fluff pieces.

Joey Cora is difficult to trust. He always says everyone looks amazing at Camp Cora. I have confidence Beckham will learn the position quickly, though. Hell, he learned third base during the season.
