Heyman saying that it's about $16 million for 2 years.

This per Heyman's twitter.

That seems like an awful lot to pay if you ask me.

I expect to see his numbers return to his Mariners years especially when you consider he is returning to the same division. Joel is quite a step down from Lackey. The AL West should be very competitive this year though with the Angels taking a couple steps back.

Yeah the ol' "I don't have to pitch to a DH any more and have an automatic out at the bottom of the lineup, plus all these teams suck compared to the AL"-ball.

If he can keep getting the ground balls, he should do all right in that division. He should give Dave Duncan a piece of the pie.

Haha...I mean, he didn't immediately start rocking the NL when he came over. He learned a sinker before last season and broke out because of that. His era in part time NL work the year before was better than his time in the AL, but certainly not as good as the year he had last year. He's a completely different pitcher now than he was in the AL.
