I'm surprised he hasn't been banned from all leagues. He is probably uncle Ricco from Napoleon Dynamite at this point.

According to the commissioner of the league, the TV replays show that the umpire in question tripped and lost his balance, not because he was struck by Offermann.

Offermann though did clearly swing at him.

By the way, ESPN is reporting the four U.S. umpires working that league have resigned and left because of threats made against them by fans.

This guy is ridiculous- what I don't understand is that he goes through 15 years in the Majors without incident and in his late 30s in independent baseball starts attacking people. Aren't guys supposed to become more mature and better handle their anger as they get older? I mean he's 41 and playing against and with at least a few guys young enough to be his son...

I like the Uncle Rico comparison.
