It took him long enough.

Bummer.. oh well, wasn't expecting him to be on the White Sox anyway and at least he's in the NL...

That's damned reasonable for a player of that caliber.

Yeah, no kidding. I'm surprised to see him sign for so cheap, comparatively speaking, especially with a team that's coming off a disastrous campaign. With a contract like that, it seems like a shame we didn't pursue him. Could have used a bat like him in the lineup.

I actually think that is overpaying for a player of his caliber. $16.5 million/year is a lot of dough.

Yep. That's pretty much all for his bat. Dude is terrible in the outfield. Not that I would mind that much if he was our DH.

The Mets had to sign a "big" name, what with all their injuries last year. They have to keep up with the Phillies.

Something tells me the Mets will still screw up next season.

I wouldn't say he is terrible, but he is not elite.

NYM could have waited it out and signed him for less, because it was obvious that none of the contending teams that needed bats were willing to pony that cash to him.

Still, for a LF, there are better options at better $$$$.

Bay doesn't have much range anymore....I'm not sure he'll do much good at Citi defensively.....the Mets' front office is nearly as poor as the sCrUBs.....I don't think Bay's bat is going to help them much.
