Not sure where this belongs so feel free to move it to where ever.

Hes never really had any success in the MLB, but has posted some pretty good numbers in the minors. Guess KW is just taking a flier on him and hoping for pretty much a miracle. Not sure whether he would accept a minor league assignment or not, or whether he would just go back to Japan.

This is KW making an early pitch to get Yu Darvish since Botts was his teammate in Japan.

Just googled him and saw that he was born in Paso Robles, CA. My dad used to live there, nice little town in wine country.

Ahh, The final piece to the puzzle, a big boy, switch hitting, OF, 1B, DH. The guy we all been waiting for, if he fits the Sox budget.

Ooh i hope he makes the team because he'd have the best nickname...The Bott fly.
I remember him as a big lefthander slugger for Texas that k'd
a lot with a big slow looping swing. But hey, he looked the part.

He reminds me of Joe Borchard part II

Maybe he's related to the Babysitter Bandit (Mrs. "Botts") from the Simpsons? :dunno:

Great Zinfandel grapes...

All the fun of wine country without all the noise and traffic of Napa/Sonoma. My dad worked in the tasting room at Bonny Doon.

He's a big strong guy...hit a ball way up in the deck in Texas....saw him play down there when I was in Dallas....

I wouldn't count on him much, though....serious problems with BA and strikeouts....maybe Greg can help him....

wow, did I say that?

Maybe a longshot at a much cheaper version of Cust.
