ESPNBoston.com is reporting that the Red Sox are close to finalizing a deal with Mike Cameron. Money is not mentioned in the article

Apparently they said goodbye to Bay when they signed Lackey.

Not so fast. Boston's gotta get rid of Lowell first since A-Gon would push Youk to third. Unless they are confident they can find a suitor for Lowell, they won't be so quick to pursue him. Of course, once they trade him, they will definitely go after an Adrian in the form of a Beltre or a Gonzalez.

Lowell is already in the process of being traded to the Rangers for Max Ramirez.

Seems like way too much money for a career .250/.340/.448 hitter. Especially since from what I read they plan to play him in LF which kinda negates his great defensive range with the Monster being there. The Lackey contact wasnt great either. Guess it doesnt matter when your payroll seems to be almost limitless though.
