Just in case anyone missed their individual speculation threads.

****. Who the hell are we supposed to get for DH/OF now? The rest of the options kind of suck.

Link?
This really sucks. Not that I was expecting the Sox being able to get Matsui, though.

Yeah, unless a trade happens, the list is thin.
Unless we go with a RH heavy line up in the middle.
I actually was excited about the Matsui talks.
Right now the combination of Quentin/Konerko as #3/#4 is about the weakest in all of baseball (for teams who wish to contend). Add Rios as your #5 and I'm just about to throw up.

No.
One guy can't stay healthy and the other guy is on a career decline.
I will say yes.

It's a big gamble, that's for sure.

No.Well if we pencil in Quentin to have an 09' and Konerko to have an 08'... then that's true. But why would we do that?
I think Quentin will explode, and Konerko will do what he does as always, without much attention.

I think from coming back from an injury, Matsui had a pretty nice year.

Konerko was coming off an injury plagued year too and put up similar numbers to Matsui in a far weaker lineup. Also, Paulie is two years younger.

I don't think the Matsui deal is official yet.

Konerko will have a solid season like usuall, and hopefully Carlos will stay healthy and it will be all right. I think we will have to bring back Thome in ST because the options are so limited and CQ is a injury waiting to happen. All in all, if we can score around 4.6 runs a game with our staff, who IMO will be the best in baseball, and a decent bullpen with 3 closers 2005 style, we are set.

Considering his injury history, yes he could literally explode.
$80+ million for Lackey? Sheesh!
