Frank Thomas didn't have his good years in the 2000s. That's the only reason he isn't top 10.

MLB Network's top 9 starting pitchers of the decade.

1. Randy Johnson
2. Pedro Martinez
3. Johan Santana
4. Roger Clemens (yeah, right)
5. Andy Pettitte
6. Roy Halladay
7. Roy Oswalt
8. CC Sabathia
9. Javier Vazquez

Buehrle should be on this list.

Of the top ten Sox players of the decade only Buehrle and Konerko played the entire decade with the Sox. Buehrle was listed #1 and Konerko #2. Now Buehrle is listed 26 of all players in the decade and Konerko is not in top 100? Something is not right here.

ESPN LOVES
Cubs
Yankess
Red Sox
sometimes Mets

ESPN HATES
White Sox
everyone else

It seems like the whole list is a popularity thing and no thought was put into 11-100

In fact, neither Paul Konerko nor Jermaine Dye is on this "top 100" list but Carlos Zambrano is? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Yea, I wonder if Burls would have made the list if he didnt throw the perfecto this year.

3 pitchers on that list of top 10 pitchers were on the Astros team that we beat.

Which is why we had no shot.

Hard to believe anybody would pick Javy over MB for anything other than more strikeouts.

Unreal.

Thats just it. Im sure not a ton of research went into this and they simply looked at numbers.

Winning one hundred games in seven years with an ERA under 3.50 will do that for you.

Buehrle should be on this list.

This was a sham because of that stupid 'quality start' stat they put up there. That was most of the reason cited for Vazquez being #9. Sure he whiffed a lot of guys too, but he melted down just as much.

Maddux any day of the week in this decade over Vazquez, and that is considering that this was not like the 90's and he didn't pitch in 2009.

But if not Maddux then Buehrle should be on it.

Other than that, it is pretty accurate, IMO.
