It will be Damaso Marte and/or Antonio Osuna. It will be a closer by committee!

I don't think you should be too worried. After all he has a respectable 3.90 ERA, hitters are hitting just .220 off of him and has yet to give up a home run. He got us out of a huge jam on Friday that put us in prime position to take over the lead but Carlos screwed it up. He still hasn't given up a hit to the 4 batters he's faced with the bases loaded. Osuna wants the ball when the game is on the line, unlike Foulke.

I'll be glad to see Osuna saving games because I know he wants the ball and hes got the right closer mindframe. Marte I'm not so sure about.

Is this your prediction or do you have some inside scoop?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I'd love to see Marte start. He's a left handed El Duque with all of his arm angles.

He'd never make it as a starter, for the same reason Foulke wouldn't.

Marte didn't start because of his control.

Foulke didn't start because he only has two pitchs.

Certainly doesn't look like the same cause to me.

Cerb, I think he was referring to arm strength/stamina. Neither could go more than 2-3 innings at this point...

Foulke was a starter till he was traded to Sox,and Marte was a starter in A ball, there is a reason they are both releivers, neither of them can go through the line-up twice.
There is a reason that there is a difference between starters and releivers,I suggest you learn it.

Manuel sent a pretty clear message brining foulke in in the 6th.

Still, I'd like him to get a start or two.

Another woeful performance by Ritchie. Must be about 5 in a row by now.

FWIW, I would rather see Marte in the closer role out of those two. He can throw some serious heat. Another guy I think would make a good closer is Danny Wright. He can throw heat and seems to get through the first few innings ok, most of the time. Put him in for one inning and he may be unstoppable. Is Royce Ring ready to come up already? :)

I am all for Osuna being our closer, but I don't think Marte's ready to be put in such situations yet, since he seems to cringe when under pressure.

I'm the savior of the world! If you make me your closer, I will take us to the World Series.
