Not sure who Neal LaVelle is, or if this is even valid or not. I honestly dont know too much about Redmond besides that hes 38. Is his D still a strong suit? Guess Ozzie saw something he liked in Redmond while playing against him. Lets see if KW complies with this.

His name did pop up in this article a week ago (http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20091201&content_id=7736696&vkey=news_cws&fext=.jsp&c_id=cws), so there could be some truth to that rumor.

He's originally a Chicago guy. I hear him interviewed on radio from time to time, and he's a pretty level-headed guy, not prone to wild speculation.

Redmond is a solid backup catcher, but he is getting old, especially for a catcher.

Ozzie just wants to compile the Beuhrle killers on his own team. Redmond is one. Now, we just need to get Quinlan and I think Beuhrle's CY Young award is a lock.

That's kind of ironic if he does sign with the sox. I saw redmond at a dicks sporting goods in minneapolis one day this summer and shook his hand. I was wearing a sox sweatshirt and made a comment about how he probably doesn't like me too much. He replied with a..hey I may be on the southside next year. Hah, who knew.
