What's your favorite walkup music by any current or former sox player? I think I've gotta go with Gordon Bekham and Your Love by The Outfield, the song is amazing and it's great how the crowd gets so into it.

I absolutely love that, and it IS great how the crowd caught on with it pretty early. It's a funny thing you mentioned that song, as I just got done listening to it!

An honorable mention goes to AJ Pierzynski when he used Beck's E-Pro as his walk-up song in 2005.

Paulie's been using that AC/DC song for as long as I remember, but my favorite goes to Boom by P.O.D. playing whenever BBB Jenks get put in in the 9th. That's something that just gets you pumped up.

No, Konerko uses "Harvester of Sorrow" by Metallica.

Griff used "Walk This Way" for his walkup music at some point in 2008. I really liked it and added it to my Sox playlist.

Not really. Metallica is metal (at that time, they were thrash metal). AC/DC is hard rock, not metal.

Mine is either Paulie with Harvester, or Crede with Pearl Jam's World Wide Suicide in '06 and '07.

Beckham's for sure. I really like how the crowd get's into it. I'm sure that gave him a lot of confidence. Imagine a crowd of people doing that for you...

I get goose-bumps at the games sometimes. <<< I'm weird :redneck

That's a Kurtis Blow song called "AJ Scratch"; it has absolutely nothing to do with AJ Pierzynski.

Currently I have have to say I like Gordie's the best. In the past I liked, and I am going to admit to this, but Jermaine Dye would come up to bat with Still DRE in 07 or Cabrera last year with Homecoming by Kanye.

That isn't to say that Harvester isn't an instant Sox classic for all time....

Visiting player: Chuck Finley, "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake. I'm sure a lot of us know the hilariousness of how this went down.

Current- Harvestor of Sorrow for Paulie, no question.

Former - This past season Thome's was "Suicide & Redemption" from Metallica as well. I LOVE that song!

Honorable mention for Crede a few years ago was "Worldwide Suicide" by Pearl Jam.

I like this one for more recent times, but the one I'll always remember is the opening of Berlin's 'Final Countdown' that Nancy would play when Carlton Fisk came up to hit.

Of course, 'She Was Only Sixteen' for Luis Apolonia was a laugher for visiting teams.

I just figure it's as simple as being the song of a young, budding star who is already one of the most popular players on the team.

That's got to be it; otherwise it's just a ****ty '80's mainstream pop song.

The whole Chuck Finley thing and Whitesnake. His wife at the time who was going through a divorce with him and saying some pretty mean things, was Tawne Katan, the former dance in the Whitesnake videos. As he was warming up in the bullpen at whitesox park while all of this was going down, the DJ at the time (I think Joe Stephen, who I thought did a great job) played Whitesnake Here I Go Again. Good stuff

On the topic.

Best White Sox Intro, Bobby Jenks - Boom
Best currently in baseball, Mariano Rivera - Enter Sandman. I am sorry if the Yankee haters think it is overrated, but it seriously kicks ass. Just being at a Yankee game and seeing that, it's fantastic. Definately best in baseball. Another solid one is Trevor Hoffman - Hells Bells. When the bullpen door opens and you hear the bell, frickin awesome.

Please enlighten us. I have never heard this story.

Chuck Finley was married to Tawney Kitaen, who was once married to David Coverdale of Whitesnake and in a bunch of their music videos.

Tawney and Finley got into an altercation one night, and she essentially beat the **** out of him with one of her high heels. He was bloodied and bruised.

I think it was in 2002 shortly after it happened, the Angels were in town to face the Sox. Finley came up to bat and they started to play "Here I Go Again" from Whitesnake.

The guy who did the music was fired, but damn was it great.

Gotta go with Harvester of Sorrow for Paulie. Perfect match and everyone will remember that song long after he leaves the team.

I hate Beckham's song but whatever floats his boat.

Im still waiting for a closer to have Man In the Box from Alice in Chains. That'd be awesome.

I don't really understand what's so special about Beckham's song. Maybe I just don't get it.

The song really meant nothing to me when he was first using it. However, that changed dramatically one summer afternoon when our favorite Gordie got the game winning hit against.....duh duh duh duh.....the Cubs. June 27, 2009 was without a doubt his coming out party.

They celebrated and played that song. From then on, it reminded me of that moment and all the blue running for the exits. That and the fact that I really realized at that moment what we might be dealing with here.

I loved Shingo Takatsu's entrance. Everything about it, from the video montage of people being embarrassed by a 50 mph pitch to the way the crowd would get into it. The crowd went wild when Shingo was announced in ways I didn't see again until October 2005.

I believe his music was a remix of the theme to Speed 2!

This is Shingo Takatsu's music:

He picked it because it was the song to which his favorite Japanese professional wrestler enters the ring:

Obviously the version Shingo used was edited down.

IIRC Tawny Kitaen beat the mess out of Finley while he was driving so he couldn't really defend himself. But Chuck caught a lot of grief about how a slyph of a women could beat the mess out of a pro athlete.

Fact check..."Berlin" brought you such great rock ballads as "Take my Breath Away" from Top Gun. "Final Countdown" is by the band...EUROPE! easy to confuse the two. I used to love "The Gong Show"...it was hilarious!
