On the MLB network right now is the return of Carlton Fisk to Fenway Park on Opening Day 1981. Harry and Jimmy announcing. Man it's Opening Day and Jimmy is already moaning about the team

Caught the 9th inning. I loved when Harry said "Miss Boston just walked by..." and Jimmy said "There aren't many Miss Boston's in this city...This town makes you want to leave." Can you imagine announcers saying something like that today?

It is so fun to hear them again.

The Fenway reaction to Fisk's HR was priceless.

Those were the Haywood and Buddy years of ownership and they were hated by the fanbase.

Ralph Houk was the manager and he was asleep half of the time in the dugout.

I wish they'd broadcast another Sox game with Harry and Jimmy. I've seen that a few times now.

With all the fanfare about this game, one of the reasons why I like watching it was to see Britt Burns pitch.

While this game reminds me of the immaturity he showed a lot back in the early 80's, his classic overhand delivery and high leg kick were just awesome.

Hard to believe Hoss was done barely over five years later.

Listening to Harry from that era was always fun, but I could have cared less about Jimmy Piersall. Being outspoken is one thing, but he just always seems more intent on being an ass than anything else.

Everytime I hear his name it reminds me of the time Tony LaRussa, Jim Leyland, and other coaches confronted him for shooting his mouth off about the players/coaches wives.

Jimmy was the best. He forgot more about baseball than most "experts" ever knew. And he probably would have kicked Larussa's ass if it were one on one, but of course LaRussa wasn't stupid enough to confront Jimmy alone.

times that the team wasn't.

MLB Network had Tom Seaver's 300 game on yesterday from Yankee Stadium. Another good game to watch. :D:

Last weekend they were showing ASG's, and they re-aired the 2003 game from the Cell, due to the fact that it counted for home field. It's cool to see it, but man, did the park look....bare.

I watched the whole game. All 4 1/2 hours of it.

"Reed Nichols camps underneath it....... History!"
- Ken "Hawk" Harrelson, 8/4/85,as Tom Seaver
records his 300th career victory. That was the final out of the game.
