I would love for Kenny to sign Henry Blanco. He'd be a nice backup to Aj.

Are the GM meetings a fairly recent event; or recent as far as a trade venue goes?
I just don't remember their signficance, as opposed to the December meetings.

They tend to lay the groundwork for bigger trades at the Winter Meetings.

I hope they don't sign Will Ohman

I heard from a buddy who worked in the Cubs Clubhouse that Ohman's nickname among the other players was "Oh-man look how far that went"

I'm kind of hoping Kenny renews that great relationship with Kevin Towers and finds a way to do a deal for Adrian Gonzalez....I say trade PK even up. :D:

Towers is no longer the SD GM, so that ain't happening.

And neither is that trade. Why would a rebuilding team paranoid about $$$$ take on a bigger contract than the one they have with Gonzalez, lose control over the player, and get a guy who is also going to be a FA next year at this time?

Plus, PK would not approve that trade.

It makes sense to have the meeting near O'Hare, improves the GM's ability to hold important conversations at baggage claim.

Don't the Sox have organizational meetings about this time? In Arizona?
