Seems to be our only candidate right now.

I believe he's had some success there in the past...

We still have an open outfield spot.

Doesn't a lead-off man need to get on base?

I was surprised to find out that he's lead off in 134 games. That being said I sure hope we can find a better option. Rios should be the perfect guy for the mid-bottom of the order.

Is this for real? If this was conceived by the OP, we're in for a long offseason.

Sounds like Jordan Danks could be the lead-off man

Williams says OF Jordan Danks play in Arizona Fall League has been noticed. "Jordan Danks is making things interesting."http://twitter.com/InsideTheSox/status/5486215772

The other news to come out of Friday was that talks with Podsednik on staying atop the lineup for 2010 have broken down, meaning that Jordan Danks could be tabbed as the third outfielder/leadoff hitter.http://www.670-thescore.com/blog/2009/11/06/dyes-time-with-the-sox-all-but-over/

If Danks with very limited experience is leading off come April this team is in serious trouble.

Get an outfielder Kenny, hell the Brewers just got Gomez.

Well hold on. It isn't like Danks hasn't been flying through levels in the minors, as well as impressing at the AFL. And his defense is certainly up to the task. I'm not saying it's the best idea, but it's not necessarily a bad idea either.

I would rather have Jordan Danks starting in CF and leading off in April than Carlos Gomez. The guy's reputation has been built off of being traded for Johan Santana, and he hasn't shown a damn thing to live up to that kind of potential.

Yeah, those handful of at bats in the AFL should be enough to earn a roster spot.

The AFL is more offensively oriented than the PCL. Bad idea.

OEO:

Gomez at least has experience playing the outfield in the big leagues, and provides a great deal of speed and 'little ball.' Ozzie wants that you remember.

Danks may turn out to be much, much better than him but he's had a year in the minor leagues and they want to promote him...AND bat him leadoff?

Good way to ruin the kid.

This has got to be Kenny deliberately confusing the issue.

All of those things can be said about Dewayne Wise.

Sometimes talent supercedes experience, Lip.

I knew that. Quoting you was pretty stupid -- I was supporting your point.

After the debacle of this season's first 2 months, Kenny surely knows the folly about putting a rookie in that spot, both to the team and to the development of Jordan Danks.

Besides, wouldn't discussing certain free agents at this point constitute tampering??

Yes.

Even if it's not tampering, it's still uwise for KW to tip his hand.

And when was the last time KW tipped his hand?

Who the heck saw the Teahen deal coming?
