I liked your style of play, Chris... Too bad you just weren't a little bit better.
Have fun in KC.

Too many people at WSI failed to recognize that this guy was a rookie. He really impressed me at the start of the season. I think he's going to turn out to be a pretty good player.

Exactly. You have a ton of upside.
Exactly. You have a ton of upside.
Not sure about a ton (Beckham has a ton of upside), but he can be a pretty good player. He doesn't strike out too much, has a good grasp of the strike zone, and really just puts the bat on the ball.
Good luck, Getz, just not against us.

I am a fan of Chris.
Glad that he bounced back from his injuries to have a solid year.
Please do not burn us as a Royal.
Good Luck to Chris.

Good luck Chris, I'm sure you'll become one of those slap-hitters that cause trouble for the Sox.

If you can stay on the field, KC will be grateful.

Not a done deal yet, but if he goes, good luck. Getz is a player I like and hoped to see again on the Sox next year

I liked him as a player, and thought he would be a good one. I didn't want to see him go, really, but wish him luck with the Royals.
Fields, on the other hand, well let's say maybe he needs a change in scenery and let it go at that.

Chris Getz is still on the White Sox.

This deal sucks. Getz could've been our 2B for a decade, with Beckham at 3B. Mark Teahen....yippie.

Chris, while I never thought you were the end all, be all of Sox second basemen, I very much enjoyed you on this team. Good luck to you!

Skot, that's sweet picture. Did you ever post any other photos from your family's amazing day?
PS Your sister and I share the same taste in tee shirts!

Whoa. Robin Ventura only played nine years with the Sox. Ray Durham played 7 1/2 years. Konerko just finished his 11th.
You think Getz would be here for another 10 years?

I enjoyed watching Getz play. He wasn't great last year, but for a guy in his first full season in the bigs, he did fairly well.
Best of luck in KC! :gulp:

I thought he was going to turn out to be a very good baseball player, but what can you do?
Hopefully he does well and gives Kansas something to cheer for.

Great post. I really appreciate that he played through a double hernia to try to help the team. Granted it dropped his average late in the year from .280 to .262 but he was giving his all. I will be following him in KC. You never know, he could be back one day?

Ok, he could have been here for 6 years. Or maybe 12 years. Or maybe even 8 1/3 years. The point was that the Sox gave up a guy who looked like he could really do something here for a long time for Mark ****ing Teahen, not the exact number of years he was going to play here.....geez.

Good luck Chris! I wish you all the best except when you're facing the Sox of course. :) I, too, thought you had a tremendous upside.
