3 year deal. Don't know a whole lot about him except for his stay in Washington.

I would rather Wedge if I were an Indians fan but it is a change and that they needed.

Hmmm...I guess that Valentine was out of their price range. He figured prominently at first.

The Mets brass thought highly of him, even when he was passed over for Randolph. He had nothing to work with in Washington. I mean, who could work with Bowden? He's an awful GM. At least Cleveland has some talent coming through the pipes. It'll be interesting.

I'm really not familiar with Acta at all, but just the fact that the Nationals fired him - LOL.

This implies they were on the list at some point.

They still have no pitching, and their only real big offensive threat left is Sizemore. They're gonna suck again next year just like this one.

If the Indians spend $150 mil. on players this off-seaon, Acta will be good. If the roster stays the same, and they have injuries, he'll suck. To me, he's no better or worse than Wedge.

Don't forget Asdrubal. He's really solid.

He was really the second choice after Lou Brown, but he had a guy on the other line about some whitewalls so he couldn't get back to CLE in time.

A lot of Nats fans wanted Acta gone early this season, but I always thought he got a raw deal having to deal with Bowden and his mess. All the talk among NL fans is that he was highly-regarded before taking the Nats job and some were surprised he didn't get the Mets job.

I agree with others that this is more re-arranging the deck chairs on a sinking ship. I don't think it would make much difference in Cleveland in the short term even if they hired your favorite manager, whomever that might be.
