Hahahahaha. Tigers giving it to the Twinkies through three.

3-0, and I am hoping for some more.

The place is dead.

And Cabrera is 2-2 with a double and a homer. It seems the scandal has lit a fire under him.

There is a comment I want to make about Cabrera hitting that homer. It probably would end in the roadhouse though. I hate that dirtbag for what he did.

3-0 in the 3rd with the way the Twinkies have been playing is not insurmountable but it sure is nice to see the Tigers jump on Baker early.

I want the Twins to win- for some reason I don't want to see the Tigers win it this year, even though I hate the Twins more.

The good thing is, today is basically a win win for me.

While I am pleased that the Tigers are up, let's not say the game is over til its over shall we? The Sox have seen many 5+ run leads evaporate in that place late in ball games.

I always believed that to just be a White Sox thing.

JermaineDye05

Kubel strikes out. Porcello made a huge mistake in that throwing error. If he gets out of that jam without the error and giving the Twins a run, it does wonders for his confidence and takes a bit of life out of the Twins. Tigers need to come back and get that run back.

On the plus side, they got out of it. On the negative side, they just turned the line up over so they'll have to see Mauer at least two more times unless they manage to go perfect for the next 3 innings which I doubt.

TDog

Damn. But burning Nathan. Quite chancy

Not really. The game was on the line, and Nathan is their best pitcher. The chance of there not being a save situation in the game was good, and certainly, the Twins didn't want to head into the bottom of the eighth facing a deficit.

There was a game this year, it might have been against the Rays, where Nathan blew a ninth inning save, and after the Twins took the lead in the top of the 10th, Nathan stayed in the game, had a rough time, but ended up with the win. He threw about 50 pitches. I could see him pitching today into the 10th if necessary.

I'm surprised Leyland didn't try for the squeeze in that situation with Polanco. The ump did take the bat out of his hands but with 0 outs and your season riding on the line with a guy on 3rd, I think you bunt with the 3rd baseman playing as far back as he was.

Leyland seems to be an old-school manager, and old school thinking is that you don't squeeze with none out. If he were at home, and it would have ended the game (such as the squeeze bunt that ended the 2000 season for the White Sox), I might have looked for it.

So many managerial mistakes. The defensive replacement too early in a one-run game. Going too deep into the bullpen too early (although the rosters are expanded, you don't have many guys you want to be in there with the season on the line).
