This season was a big letdown but there were certainly some high points. What, in your opinion, was most memorable.

Game - Buehrle's perfect

Play - Wise's catch in Buehrle's perfect

Perfect game, easily. Never seen one before. I expected to miss the game because of work but was let go early and made it home in the 5th inning. It took me a while to figure out what was going on, and starting with the 7th I was a nervous wreck until the last out of the 9th.

If you don't make the playoffs, you can't beat a perfect game. Hell, it's pretty hard to top unless you win the entire thing.

You have to be kidding. We need a poll for this?

How do you top 27 up, 27 down?

The high and low point is the perfect game.

After the perfect game, the team was tied for first. After that, it went down the drain...

I almost picked Paulies 3 homer game simply because I was there. I probably would have if Buehrles was just a no-hitter, but a perfect game? Easy choice.

Duh.

The title of the poll should have been "What is the second best highlight of 2009?"

The perfect game along with watching Beckham play made this season worth while.

Same here. I didn't want to move at all while I was watching the game. When it was over I had about 30 texts.

Burls perfecto was without a doubt the hi-lite of the season.
Its too bad it all went downhill after that game.

Buehrle's perfect game is probably the second best White Sox moment of my life, after the World Series.

This is an easy one.

The perfect game, although Brooks Boyer really buried it into the ground. Kind of soured me on it after a while.

I would like to state that despite my favoritism toward Jake Peavy, I too voted for the perfect game. I was just curious at what others thought. I had a feeling the perfect game would be #1 but I didn't think it would be this heavily favored.

They're probably basing their reasoning off of a long term benefit. But this question is talking about a temporal event.

The poll should be: What is the highlight of the season besides Buehrle's perfect game?

Can I have another vote? I didn't see the option for "This Poll Sucks" until after I voted for "Perfection on July 23rd."

Does there really need to be a poll for what the highlight this season was? What's next, a "What was the highlight of the 2005 season" and one of the options is "Winning the World Series?"

I voted perfect game, but I've reconsidered - it has to be the acquisition of Peavy. The perfect game was great, but Peavy changes everything.

What were those 11 people that didn't choose number 1 thinking?? :?:

Obviously, Buehrle's perfect game is the highlight. However, I was at PK's 3 home-run game, so it's a little more personal to me. Me and my brother were high-fiving and going crazy with all the complete strangers around us every time Paulie would hit another one out.

Beckham's walk-off against the Cubs was great too, also because I felt a great amount of personal satisfaction from it. My girlfriend is a Cub fan (sad, I know), and I was at a big family party she had (obviously, her entire family are Cub fans). So, her entire family was giving me **** all day about the game and how the Cubs were gonna kill the Sox. Me and one of her uncles were the sole Sox fans there, and we were all sitting watching the game. Gordon's walk-off was great retribution for all the **** her family was giving me that day. The whole rest of the party I was trying to be as respectful as possible, but I still got all these nasty looks from all her cousins and aunts/uncles. It was great. :D:

So, in summary, Buehrle's perfecto was the highlight of the season, but PK's 3 HR game and Beckham's walk-off were great moments that were more personal for me.

Definitely the perfect game...but I threw some love to Paulie's 3 HR game because I was in the outfield for that game.

The perfect game, although Brooks Boyer really buried it into the ground. Kind of soured me on it after a while.I understand where you're going with that, but odds are most of us will never see it again in our lifetime.

I didn't even have to see the other choices to answer "Buehrle's perfect game." The other choices were cool, but in the end they're not even close.

I'm 20 years old, right for his target audience. Plus, I loved him on SNL.

High point - coming over from London and getting tickets for a game against the Red Sox at the Cell :bandance:

Low point - Losing that damn game

footnote - I'll be back next August for the series of games against the Yankees

MB being prefect is obviously the highlight, but a close second was winning our final game in the Dome - the way we did it was way too awesome!

Buehrle's perfecto by far and away is numero uno.

Second is Bacon's walk off versus the Scrubbies.

That is correct sir.

The highlight of the season for me isnt the perfect game.

Take away the Jake Peavy trade and the Sox arent looking so good going into 2010.

So if i had to choose one event or the other, I'd choose the Jake Peavy trade.
